Stringing Services (Greater Victoria)

Bring Your Own: Perfect if you have a specific reel you’ve used for years and just need a professional, constant-pull installation.

Our Selection: Ideal if you want a custom recommendation. We stock the full Signum Pro lineup, which offers better tension maintenance than most major brands at a better value.

Polyester (e.g., Signum Pro X-Perience): Best for fast swingers who want maximum spin, control, and durability. It feels firmer and “tames” big power.

Multifilament (e.g., Signum Pro Micronite): Best for players seeking comfort and easy depth. It mimics natural gut, making it very “arm-friendly” and soft on impact.

A hybrid uses two different strings. One for the vertical “mains” and one for the horizontal “crosses.”

Our Recommendation: We often suggest a Polyester Main (for spin/control) and a Multifilament Cross (for comfort). This gives you the performance of a pro string without the harshness on your elbow.

Tension is a balance between Power and Control:

• Lower Tension (e.g., 40–50 lbs): More “trampoline effect,” leading to more power and a softer feel.
• Higher Tension (e.g., 50–60 lbs): A stiffer string bed that offers more precision and a flatter ball trajectory.

Note: If you are switching to a Polyester string for the first time, we usually recommend dropping your tension by 10% to avoid a “board-like” feel.

Just like tennis racquets, strings are engineered for different levels of performance.

Synthetic Gut (Budget Range): A basic solid-core nylon string. It is reliable and inexpensive but lacks the specialized spin or comfort of higher-end materials.

Polyester / Co-Poly (Mid to High Range): Brands like Signum Pro use complex heat-setting processes to ensure your tension doesn’t drop after one match. You are paying for the chemical engineering that keeps the string “crisp.”

Multifilaments (Premium Range): These strings, like Micronite, consist of thousands of micro-fibers soaked in polyurethane. This intricate manufacturing mimics expensive natural gut to protect your arm and provide “free” power.

Natural Gut (Elite Range): The undisputed gold standard of the tennis world. Made from organic fibers, it offers unparalleled tension maintenance and the softest feel available. It is the ultimate choice for players seeking maximum “pocketing,” elite touch, and the highest level of joint protection.

Typical turnaround is 24–72 hours, though we can often accommodate “emergency” same-day requests.
