Cultural Tours

Tourism is travel for pleasure or business; also the theory and practice of touring, the business of attracting, accommodating, and entertaining tourists, and the business of operating tours. Tourism may be international, or within the traveller’s country. The World Tourism Organization defines tourism more generally, in terms which go “beyond the common perception of tourism as being limited to holiday activity only”, as people “traveling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes”.

Tourism can be domestic or international, and international tourism has both incoming and outgoing implications on a country’s balance of payments. Today, tourism is a major source of income for many countries, and affects the economy of both the source and host countries, in some cases being of vital importance.

Pickleball

Pickleball is a fast-paced sport that has many similarities to tennis, badminton, and table tennis (Ping-Pong). It is played on a level court with short-handled paddles and a perforated hollow plastic ball that is volleyed over a low net.

The basic aim of pickleball, like with other racket sports, is to hit the ball over the net and prevent an opponent from hitting it back. It can be played in singles or doubles, inside or outside on a court similar to, but smaller than a tennis court, and lasts until one side reaches 11 points, with a two-point cushion.

A relatively newer sport, invented in 1965 as a backyard game, throughout the years, this game’s popularity keeps growing, especially among adults.  As the popularity of the sport grows, so too does the number of facilities with pickleball courts.

Soccer

Known as soccer in North America and football to most of the rest of the world, this sport of one of the oldest in history. It is also the most popular sport in the world, attracting billions of players and fans.

Soccer is extremely popular in all of our destinations in Europe as well as in Brazil.

Official matches consist of two 45 minutes halves with a 15 minute rest period in between.

Each team can have a minimum off 11 players (including 1 goalkeeper who is the only player allowed to handle the ball within the box around the goal area) and a minimum of 7 players are needed to constitute a match.

The objective of soccer is to score more goals than the other team. The team with more goals wins the game.

The ball is placed in the middle of the line separating the pitch into an offensive and defensive half. Players must stay on their half. Crossing the line that separates the pitch is illegal until the ball is passed. The team NOT kicking off cannot enter the circle until the ball is passed.

In addition to top league teams and games, most countries have 2nd and 3rd divisions. Promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season.

The World Cup, The European Cup, and the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup are just a few of the competitions that have games in our European destinations.

Of course there are also amateur teams and groups of friends who just like to get together and play on a regular basis.  In fact, any two people with a soccer ball and a little outdoor space, in a field or on the beach, can have a good game too.

Walking

Walking tours are  a great way to explore a new city or area and learn about its history, culture, and architecture.

Our walking tours are led by professional guides or locals who are passionate about their city.

We also have nature walks, where we provide information about the fauna and flora that we come across.
